New York, February 25, 2010

Risk & Insurance® magazine has named 71 insurance brokers of Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor, as Power Brokers™ and finalists, recognizing their creativity, problem-solving ability, industry knowledge, and superior client service.
With 37 Power Brokers, Marsh accounted for more than one-fourth of the 144 individuals gaining the Power Broker recognition this year; its 34 finalists represented more than one-third of the 112 insurance brokers in line for the top honors. Among the Marsh Power Brokers, 17 were named to the Under-40 category from a total of 57 of the younger achievers.
"This noteworthy recognition reflects the individual achievements of Marsh brokers and I congratulate them," said Joe McSweeny, president of the U.S./Canada Division of Marsh. "These outstanding insurance brokers along with many other great people at Marsh form the teams, which ultimately is what differentiates Marsh in our service to clients. I am proud to be associated with them all."
The Power Broker designations are based on nominations provided by brokers and risk managers as judged by separate panels of risk managers for each industry segment. According to Risk & Insurance, more than 300 risk managers were interviewed in the process of identifying and soliciting, evaluating and judging the final nominations. Brokers were judged primarily on their creativity in solving risk-related problems during 2009, their demonstrated industry knowledge and their high level of client service.
Risk & Insurance focuses on thought-provoking, leading edge, strategic articles about risk management and insurance. The magazine identifies emerging issues and personalities in risk management and covers property-casualty insurance, insurance brokerage, alternative risk, reinsurance, business continuity, catastrophes, workers’ compensation, enterprise and operational risk, disability management, employee benefits, and reinsurance.
